2. What material is the Ergo Elements Standing Desk Base made of?

The main frame components of all Ergo Elements Standing Desk Bases are made of sturdy stainless steel for durability and a long product lifespan.

3. Standing Desk Reset Procedure:

Once in a while our electric standing desks need a little re-calibration or system reset to continue functioning properly. If you experience strange behavior from your desk, you'll need to perform a system reset. To do so, first lower your desks to the lowest position. Then, unplug the desk and re-plug it into an electrical outlet after 2 minutes.

If you have an Ergo Elements Electric Adjustable Height Standing Desk Base with the UP/DOWN Controller, press and hold the up and down button simultaneously for 30 seconds until you hear one beep sound. Then immediately release both buttons and press and hold only the down button until you hear three beep sounds.

If you have an Ergo Elements Electric Adjustable Height Standing Desk Base with the Programmable Controller, press and hold the "UP" and “DOWN” button together for about 15 seconds until you hear one beep. Then press and hold the "DOWN" button only until the Frame completely lowers and you hear 3 Beeps.

If you have an Ergo Elements Programmable Electric Adjustable Height Standing Two Motor Desk Base, press and hold the down button until 'ASR' is shown on the display and release. Next, press and hold the down button again until the base slightly lowers then slightly raises and the height number re-appears.

Your Ergo Elements Electric Desk has been successfully re-calibrated and should now operate optimally.

(Please note that the Programmable Controller that ships with the Two Motor Desk Base is different than the Programmable Controller that ships with the programmable version of the standard Electric Adjustable Height Standing Desk Base. They are not interchangeable.)

4. Which Tops are compatible with Ergo Elements Adjustable Height Standing Desks?

Ergo Elements Adjustable Height Standing Desks are foremost compatible with Ergo Elements brand Desktops. If you would like to us a third party desktop, please choose a top that is atleast 30 inches in width, 4ft in length, able to be drilled into from underneath, and is atleast 1.5 inches in thickness. Please avoid tops made of glass or impenetrable material.

5. Are the Ergo Elements Adjustable Height Standing Desks compatible with a corner space?

Ergo Elements has a special L-shaped Adjustable Height Standing Desk Base made specifically for corner spaces. If you are interested in a standing desk to be setup in a corner space please purchase the L-shaped desk that can be found here:

 https://ergoelements.com/l-shaped-electric-adjustable-height-standing-desk-base/

6. Does the Ergo Elements Adjustable Height Standing Desk come with wheels?

Ergo Elements Adjustable Height Standing Desks do not come with wheels included but you can purchase custom caster wheels for these desks here:

https://ergoelements.com/standing-desk-caster-wheel-4pc-set/

 7. What are the Ergo Elements Desk Tops made of?

The Ergo Elements Desk Tops are made of recycled wood material with a Proprietary VOC & PVC free extra durable coating in the U.S.A., instead of coated with the cheap laminate coating that most of our competition uses.

8. Besides the Programmable Memory, what advantages does the Ergo Elements Electric Adjustable Two Motor Desk Base have over the Single Motor Electric Desk Base?

The Ergo Elements Electric Adjustable Two Motor Desk Base provides the same great performance as the single motor base, but adds programmable memory and a more advanced electric connection between the two lifting legs instead of a physical connection seen in the Ergo Elements Single Motor Base. This connection gives the user a faster and easier assembly and allows for more robust communication between the two desk base legs.

9. What are the lifting and lowering speeds for the Ergo Elements Electric Desks?

The Ergo Elements Single Motor Electric Adjustable Height Standing Desk Base will lift and lower at maximum speed of 16mm/s, while the Ergo Elements Two Motor Programmable Electric Adjustable Height Base will lift and lower at maximum speed of 38mm/s.

10. Does the Ergo Elements L-Shaped Desk Base have a dual motor and programmable design?

The Ergo Elements L-Shaped Desk Base is indeed programmable yet it has three motors instead of two. In our lab tests, we felt three motor design was the best for any L-Shaped Desk Base. We do not recommend anything less for an L-Shaped Desk.

11. My Ergo Elements Standard Electric Adjustable Height Standing Desk Base Single Motor model included a bonus Programmable Controller Instead. How do I operate this controller?

Certain select newer units of the Ergo Elements Standard Electric Adjustable Height Standing Desk Base will include the Programmable Controller instead of the standard Up/Down Controller as a complimentary free upgrade.

To store height settings in the Programmable Controller, please follow the procedure below.

1. Adjust your desk to the height you’d like to preset in position “1”.

2. Press & hold the “M” button for 3 sec. (the Memory Controller display will flash).

3. Then press the number “1” button, and your first height will be stored.

4. Repeat the above procedures for positions “2”, “3” and “4”.

Also to re-calibrate your desk base if any strange behavior is detected, please follow the below procedures. The base should be pre-calibrated before shipment but sometimes it needs another calibration after it has been used for some time.

1. Press and hold the "UP" and “DOWN” button together for about 15 seconds until you hear one beep. Then press and hold the "DOWN" button only until the Frame completely lowers and you hear 3 Beeps.

2. Once you hear the 3 Beeps your Controller and desk base is now re-calibrated.

12. I'm having trouble lining up the holes on my Ergo Elements desk frame to my Ergo Elements desk top. Is there an assembly trick to this?

Yes, there is an easy trick to this.

1. Before you attempt to attach your desk frame to the top, and while it is upside down, loosen each of the 6 screws that connect the lifting system legs to each of the the frame support beams and brackets (loosen each screw by about 1/2 turn).

2. Also loosen the 8 hex screws that extend the support beams.

3. Now align the desk frame above the desk top holes, and screw in each screw.

4. Once you have secured the frame to the top, go back and tighten down all of the screws and hex screws that you loosened on the legs and support extension beams.

5. You're good to go.

12. What does a proper drive shaft assembly look like?

Take a look at the images below showing a proper drive shaft assembly. Assembling the drive shaft in this manner keeps the tiny hex screws free from the leg flange when spinning. This arrangement also ensures that the gearbox on the non-motor leg properly receives the drive shaft rod.
